IAM Agricultural Machinery are going Ploughing!
IAM Agricultural Machinery is excited to announce that we will be showcasing a comprehensive range of equipment from leading brands such as Strautmann, Hardi, Bomford Turner, FarmDroid, and Rabe at the National Ploughing Championships. The event takes place from Tuesday 17th to Thursday 19th September 2024 in Ratheniska County Laois, and this year’s stand will be our largest display yet, with machinery to suit all customers’ needs.
Introducing the Bomford Turner Hurricane – A New Machine on Irish Soil!
We are thrilled to introduce a brand-new arrival into Ireland from the Bomford Turner range: the Hurricane. Built with durability and user convenience in mind, this machine features high-quality Grade 80 steel chains that have been heat-treated for superior strength and safety—commonly used in overhead lifting, recovery, and towing. Designed with a reinforced 10mm top deck for extra strength, it operates at 540 RPM and comes with a slip clutch as standard. The height is easily adjustable, with skids that can be set from 50 to 100mm. The Hurricane also boasts 18mm heavy-duty lifting chains, a Cat II linkage, and a 140 hp heavy-duty gearbox.
Strautmann Range on Display at the National Ploughing Championships
We will also be showcasing the Strautmann Magnon 8 370, a high-performance compact forage wagon designed for professionals. This model offers impressive harvesting performance and short cutting lengths, all within compact dimensions and with low power requirements. Known for its enormous loading capacity and high unloading speeds, thanks to its swivelling front wall, the Magnon 8 is unrivalled in throughput and impact.
Additionally, as we move into the winter feeding months, IAM will have a selection of Strautmann Verti-Mix Diet Feeders on display. With options such as the Verti-Mix 2401, Verti-Mix 1801, Verti-Mix 1401 and Verti-Mix 50, visitors can compare the range to find the best solution for their feeding needs. These feeders are designed with precision to ensure consistent and homogeneous feed mixtures, maximising nutritional value for livestock.
For customers taking advantage of their TAMS III grant allowance, we will also display the Strautmann TS 140 muck spreader, featuring wide-angle spreading units, 620mm diameter milling tines, and large spreading discs for reliable material distribution over a 24m width.

In addition to the Hurricane, we will feature several other machines from Bomford Turner’s hedge cutter range at the National Ploughing Championships, including the Hawk 7.0 and 6.5, Kestrel S 5.7, Osprey 5.0, and Kestrel E 5.0. These machines, showcased during our recent Demo Tour, offer another opportunity for visitors to see them up close. Renowned for their durability and innovation, Bomford Turner machines are a top choice for farmers, contractors, and government departments. A selection of Bomford Turner flail mowers will also be on display, with TAMS III grant approval.

The FarmDroid FD20 – A Revolution in Farming Automation
IAM is also excited to present the FarmDroid FD20, the world’s first fully automatic sowing and weeding robot. This CO2-neutral, pesticide-free robot helps farmers reduce sowing and weed control costs while minimising the need for manual labour. Using GPS technology, the FarmDroid precisely places each crop, then mechanically weeds both between rows and around individual plants. It’s a sustainable, non-chemical solution for effective weed control and was named NPA Machine of the Year in 2022.
